When the thoughts in my mind seem to fight a lot
Was lost in a rhyme scheme then I forgot
I can’t figure out if I should write or not
Wait, is this writer’s block?
Naw, no it’s not
It’s not writers block
But it’s a good time to stop
& enjoy this moment that I have got
I “wrote” this one while on my daily walk at work. I was feeling overwhelmed and seeking escape through rhyme. I stumbled on a few rhyme schemes but wasn’t really “feeling” them at the time. After fumbling with a few unsuccessfully, I looked up at realized it was a beautiful day. I decided to take a break from the puzzle of complicated word play and instead unleashed my senses to enjoy my brief respite from the chaos that is life.
Later that night, I wrote, reviewed & edited the rhymes I wasn’t feeling and realized they were 🔥🔥🔥. The song become one of @nickrobison new favorite tracks.
It’s rare that I feel “blocked” these days but overwhelm consistently consumes me. My “solutions” have been:
- Taking time to pause
- Realizing my creativity is not confined to beats & rhymes
- Seeking renewed inspiration by looking at routine events with a new perspective

The weak will be deposed, my peak will be exposed
It’s getting hot in here but please keep your clothes
Like volcanoes that’s how my heat arose
Just like liquid hot magma
Fake MCs I wish they went and got asthma
While I run off with a wicked hot dancer

Let me uh, let me try one more time
I had a day so I’m sipping on some Cabernet
Back in the day I’s get lost in the cabaret
Pouring out liquor for those that passed away
While I’m mad I didn’t say what I had to say
Then I’d hit the lab & spray letting the tension ease
Dreaming of getting cheese & paying tuition fees
Then ballin’ in Nice meeting exquisite needs
Forget all about going where my wisdom leads
But is it peace? Well does it make a difference?
I dominate like Serena when she playing tennis
I’ll feign indifference while I claim my premise
As getting money while disdaining limits
No that’s not it, that’s not it man
That’s definitely not it
